Fellows' Film Premiers Tonight on HBO

Tune in to HBO this evening at 9 p.m. (EST) for the broadcast premier of Youth Knows No Pain , a documentary by New York filmmaker Mitch McCabe . From Variety :  " Youth Knows No Pain subjects America's anti-aging obsession to an intimate, often unflattering closeup, and with an appreciable lack of vanity, director Mitch McCabe also holds up her own face -- lines, imperfections and all -- for the camera's scrutiny. McCabe's unique perspective as a plastic surgeon's daughter informs this lively, candid and thoughtful piece, which avoids the fashionable alarmism of so many social-issue docs as it weighs the costs and benefits of wrinkle creams, breast implants and Botox injections and allows viewers to decide for themselves.  Elsewhere, Youth Knows No Pain smartly and amusingly sends up the $60 billion anti-aging industry..." Mitch's films have received several awards and screened at hundreds of festivals and venues. She began making documentary film

Composer J. Walter Hawkes joined the glitz and glamor at this weekend's Daytime Emmy Awards galas when he received his second Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy for Achievement in Musical Composition and Direction for his work on "The Wonder Pets!"  The program, on Nickelodeon, uses an orchestra playing classical music, and each episode is similar to an operetta, with the characters singing much of the dialog. As an arranger/composer, Walter has scored independent films and arranged/orchestrated for jazz and theater. He lives and works in Long Island City, New York. Daytime Emmys are given by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Congratulations Walter!
