VCCA Welcomes Lila Fenton Heasley to Development Office

The VCCA is pleased that Lila Fenton Heasley has joined the staff as Development Coordinator. In her new position, Lila, who grew up in the Charlottesville area and feels very much at home back in the Blue Ridge Mountains, will support fundraising efforts and assist with special event planning.

She spent the past year traveling the country with her new husband, Kurt. After considering New York and Los Angeles, they returned to Lynchburg, the “Hill City,” to be closer to family and friends. They were drawn to the city’s architectural revitalization and the vibrancy of the 5th Street, downtown area.

Prior to coming to the VCCA, Lila worked as a production coordinator/associate producer at Concrete Pictures in Philadelphia. There she coordinated spots for the Food Network, PBS, CW, Military and Discovery Channels, associate produced music videos, and conceived, scripted and produced a demo for a music and travel series.

She has written, directed and/or acted in over 30 plays both regionally (Live Arts, Offstage Theatre) and in New York (Bleeker Street Theater, Samuel Beckett Theater). While pursuing the arts, she enjoyed working events at the Whitney, MOMA, the Metropolitan Museum, Sotheby’s, Rockefeller Plaza, Hammerstein Ballroom and Lincoln Center.

When she is not working, she takes pleasure in reading, writing, drumming, photography, long walks in nature with her daughter and husband, rooftop gardening, live music, performance, and listening to long ragas while cooking South Indian or Italian meals for hungry dinner guests in her home.

Her strangest job ever? Googling potential diner’s accomplishments to see if they were “worthy” of a coveted table reservation at a hot new spot in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
