"For Mel, photography was a path and an instrument for social justice..." - The New York Times on Mel Rosenthal

From the beginning, VCCA Fellow Mel Rosenthal wanted his images to make a difference.
His focus on poverty, housing and health care took him to Africa, Central America, the Caribbean and the United States. Now, after a teaching career of nearly 40 years, Mel is retiring from Empire State College. The New York Times interviews him in "A Mentor's Passion for Pictures and Social Justice".
