"View of the Harlem River" by Daniel Hauben |
The Sunday New York Times story is entitled Battered and Beautiful: His Bronx. It's about Daniel Hauben and the 22 friezes the Bronx Community College commissioned him to paint for their new North Hall and Library.
A native son of the Bronx, Hauben's career has been in the borough's streets "...illuminating the surrounding lush landscapes and working people, infusing them with a touch of whimsy." (NY Times)
