Amy Cheng's Work On View in Connecticut

Amy Cheng is in the Summer Rotation show at Amy Simon Fine Art, Westport, CT and has three of her paintings on exhibit through the fall in the atrium lobby of Riverpark (800 Connecticut Avenue) in Norwalk, CT.

Ornate, jewel-like, Cheng's work recalls, mandalas and rose windows, kaleidoscopes and batik. Her geometric and floral motifs further bring to mind Islamic and Asian artistic traditions, her patterns and repetitions, a Fibonaci Series, making her work both spiritual and rooted in the basic architecture of nature,

Cheng was recently interviewed together with members of Across the Divide, a loose affiliation of immigrant Chinese-American artists currently teaching at U.S. colleges. The group has been showing together in juried exhibitions since 2004. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByhjnxLwR1Y
